DESIGNED IN HEAVEN: THE TRUTH ABOUT MODERN TECHNOLOGY
Whenever we think of human intelligence and its remarkable ability to invent, design and innovate, we cannot help but praise our brilliant scientists, universities and the mathematicians of our modern society. Surely, we have much to be grateful for when we look at all these tools and gadgets that have made our lives so convenient. From the medical department to the transport sector, from the schooling system to the defence industry. Now, here's the Breaking News: none of the modern technology is original to the human brain. The ideas were all stolen from the All-wise Creator, the Almighty. And with no credit given back to Him whatsoever. If He was a man like us, He would have every right to file for copyright infringement.
You may ask, "What do you mean that all technological inventions are not original with our Science Department?" No worries, let me give you a few examples to prove my point.
Show me your plane ticket
I am one of those people who have never flown in an aeroplane. Whether that is a good thing or not, we will discuss another day. But I have often wondered: how could such a huge piece of metal be able to fly? How does it even go against the force of gravity? You just have to go back in history. It all started in December 17, 1903, after the American brothers Orville Wright and Wilbur Wright had carefully studied...wait for it – the bird! Oh yes, they did. God, the Almighty, had already created an animal with light, hollow bones, wings, feathers and the ability to take off and land effortlessly. It even has a perfect navigation system to guide its direction right to its target location (birds actually migrate from Southern Africa to North America without getting lost). All Mr. Wright had his mother’s son had to do was to copy and paste that ready-made system, pat themselves on the shoulder and everyone called them inventors of a new thing. All the while, the Omnipotent One was watching from heaven with a smile. Think about that.
Move like a Robot
Some people believe robots are the next big thing in terms of replacing mankind. Its ability to move upright, carry weight and manoeuvre about makes it a perfect or perhaps a better version of the human body. But here is what the robotic engineers would be reluctant to admit: they spent years studying and attempting to mimic the human skeleton. In short, they copied God's design. Your skeleton is a masterstroke of a design. A collection of bones, muscles and their nerves work seamlessly to keep your body upright and balanced. It can twist, turn, run and it can even handle heavy loads – flawlessly. That is the goal that the Robotics Department has been grasping to reach all along. Actually, there are still many years until their counterfeit version meets the standard of the original. Because the machine skeleton still struggles to run, bend, kneel and twist like the human body. So, who truly deserves credit for the robots? You now know the answer.
Did you get vaccinated?
Do you know that there is a creature that God made, that survives on sucking blood from other animals, humans too? It does it in a way that is quiet and painless. By the time the victim feels pain, it would be too late. The mosquito. Guess what modern technology got its inspiration from this little good-for-nothing parasite? The injection needle. Yes, it is one of the few tools that are able to penetrate the human skin with as little pain as possible. It does that by numbing the nerves through its angled penetration, vibration force and its super smooth edges. To prove my point, try piercing your skin with any other pointed object; the pain is unbearable. Yet the injection needle has a different effect altogether. Thank you mosquito. Thank you God Almighty. Your wisdom is infinite.
Much safer underground
One of the brilliant innovations of the modern transport system, especially in developed countries, is the underground transport network. Traffic jams can be reduced, city space can be saved and travelling time can be shorter, thanks to the underground subway system. Ever wondered though: who came up with that idea in the first place? Oh, I know. The burrowing worm. It is an insect that has a special ability to navigate its way under the soil, digging in such a way as to leave a hollow path, while maintaining the overall structure and strength of its tunnel. That is the idea that engineers stole and are using to build the modern tunnel system. If only they could acknowledge the original Author.
Picture-perfect like an iPhone camera
What if I told you about a machine that works by gathering light that bounces off an object, bending that light through a lens to focus it, and then capturing it on a light-sensitive surface to create a permanent image? Something that can capture and freeze real-life events and keep them for future memories. If your guesswork is good enough, you would think I’m describing your smartphone camera. Wrong! That is the human eye. It is the blueprint for modern camera technology. Your eye has something called a Pupil, which is the Camera Diaphragm. It has the Iris, the Aperture Ring in cameras. The Crystalline Lens becomes the Glass Lens, the Eyeball Interior is the Camera Box and the eye Retina is the Film. All thanks to the great scientists like Ibn Al-Haytham (Alhazen), the camera system is just a miniature version of what was already designed – in heaven!
Think fast like a computer
The centre of every bit of today’s technological advancement is down to one thing: the computer system and its ability to process large chunks of numbers in real time. The secret? It’s the CPU (central processing unit). According to John von Neumann and his Von Neumann architecture, the CPU must have these three components: a Central Control Part, a Central Arithmetic Part and a Memory Unit, which is the very same system that underlies the human brain functions. In other words, we have always had computers; they are right within our nervous system. Who then is the Master scientist?
If time was on my side, I would go on and tell about how the butterfly wings inspired the solar panel system, how the human antibodies is the father of the PC antivirus software, how the road night-reflectors were copied from the cat’s eyes, how the car wipers where inspired by the eye-lids, how paper-making was borrowed from the wasps nest, how currency watermarks were motivated by the butterfly wings and how the shock absorbers came directly from the woodpecker’s head. I could write more about the bullet train’s relation with a kingfisher bird, the dragonfly and the helicopter, the drone and the bee, termite moulds and air conditioners and much, much more.
In fact, let me give you an idea: if you want to do your own “new invention”, just carefully study something in nature and build upon it. The Almighty has already invented it on your behalf. Should I also mention that there is no “science & technology” without the Lord’s natural elements like oxygen, water, sunlight, minerals, and every other raw material you can think of? I cannot help but marvel at such wisdom and creativity from our heavenly Father. If you don’t mind, allow me to go down on my knees in worship: “Oh, the depth of the riches and wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are his judgments and how inscrutable his ways! “For who has known the mind of the Lord, or who has been his counselor?” “Or who has given a gift to him
that he might be repaid?” For from him and through him and to him are all things. To him be glory forever. Amen.” - Romans 11:33-36
