FULLY EXPLAINED IN FEW WORDS
A question was asked of me, “Can you explain the concept of salvation in detail?” Believe me, this is the most important question that one can ask. In fact, these are the matters that must be the priority among God’s people, although often very much ignored.
The idea of salvation is simply that you are fallen through Adam, your grandfather. You and I are sinners by nature, desire and practice. We have broken each and every part of God’s law. “All have sinned and fallen short: there is none who does good, no, not one (Rom 3:10-23).”
Which means you are not a good person. Your thoughts, your lips, and even your heart’s desires are an abomination to the Holy One of heaven.
Which then means that we all deserve that place called the lake of fire, where God punishes all evil. “Hell from beneath is moved at your coming,” says my Bible. Yet, that is not the end. The Good News of the Gospel says that this same God does not want anyone to perish; BECAUSE OF HIS GREAT LOVE TOWARDS SOMEONE LIKE YOU. He came down Himself in the person of Jesus of Nazareth to die on the cross for your sins; ALL OF THEM! Once and for all. “He, who knew no sin, became sin for you, so that you can be the righteousness of God (2 Cor 5:21).”
Therefore, understand this, my dear: to receive that forgiveness of sin, you must REPENT & BELIEVE IN CHRIST JESUS as your Saviour and ticket to heaven (don't believe in yourself but trust & rely on Jesus for your salvation).
When you believe, you will be forgiven. It doesn’t matter who you are or what you have done. That process of God forgiving you is called salvation. You become saved. He qualifies you for heavenly entry. He reconciles you from being an enemy of God to being a friend of the Most High. He clothes you with His perfect righteousness. He comes Himself to dwell inside your heart. He writes your name in the book of life. He adopts you as His own child. He raises you from spiritual death to life in abundance. He transfers you from darkness to the kingdom of His dear Son. He seals you with His Holy Spirit until the day of redemption. In addition to this, because salvation is God’s work, you will not lose that salvation because it’s all based on His faithfulness. God gives eternal life, not temporal life.
When you are saved, you also CHANGE. That is, you are transformed into a new creature; it’s called being Born Again! You die in the old nature and its desires and start to live in the newness of life in Him.
Therefore, I ask you today: are you saved? Notice, I am not asking whether you go to church or not( everyone goes to church). Are your sins forgiven? Test yourself to see whether you are in Christ, examine yourself (2 Cor 13:5).
And if you somehow realise that salvation has not really happened in your heart, do not be ashamed, but rejoice that God opened your eyes. If anything, use that opportunity and throw yourself into Christ. Abandon all hope in your self-efforts and believe in the Lord Jesus. Yes, He did not come to call the righteous, but sinners into repentance. “Whoever, says the writer, “calls on the Name of the Lord will be saved.” You can start that new journey today. Call on the Name of the Lord and you will receive full pardon. Trust in Christ today and the times of refreshment will come into your soul. Don't miss this wonderful thing my friend. Behold, shadows are gathering, deathbeds are coming. Seek the Lord while He may be found!
