How to Keep Your Christian Cool on Social Media

Image
My experience on the ground, physically interacting with humans from different backgrounds, tells me that people are not that bad after all. Everybody is so kind and understanding, you would insist that there is nothing called a bad person. But wait, get your smart device and log into your social media account. Read the posts, watch the videos of the latest trends, take time to scroll through the comments and be horrified by the hatred, anger and insults that you will find. It’s a totally different world, you would swear they are not the same humans you meet on the ground. What saddens me more is that even we who proudly wear the Christian badge somehow suddenly throw away all that as soon as we are online. As if being a believer in Christ does not apply on the internet. I have taken time and thought about this, and discovered that we need some Christian social media manners. That is, if we ever care about being effective representatives for our Saviour. Here are some of them… Get your...

Tomorrow Is the Day of Rapture! Or Is It?

Image
Trending news! Jesus is coming to take the Church as soon as 24 September 2025. That is according to the latest Christian news around the world. If you are perhaps behind on this hot story, I suggest you go to any media platform, Youtube, for example, and type “ Jesus is coming September 2025 ”, and your feed will blow up with it. Admittedly, I am not the one who reacts to whatever is “going viral” on social media, because I always believe that the Bible is always relevant to every situation, whenever. Hence, my attitude is always to ignore the so-called trending news and continue preaching the Bible. Nonetheless, I could hardly restrain myself from responding to this, firstly, because some sincere brethren are concerned about it. Secondly, because I believe we can glean something of value for our Christian sanctification about the issue of the Lord’s Return. Apparently, there is a man somewhere on earth who told the world that rapture will happen this year, on 23rd and 24th of this ...

What is Christian De-construction and How Can You Avoid it?

Image
Now and then, here and there, you will meet people who claim that they used to believe wholeheartedly in the Lord Jesus, were dedicated members of such and such a church, but have since renounced all of that. They have now realised that “Christianity is a scam, the Bible is not the word of God” and have, henceforth, discovered “better enlightenment” and have moved on to it. That is called Christian deconstruction. It is when an individual “de-constructs”, that means tears down all the Christian foundations and values they once embraced . As if that is not enough, they then start a de-evangelism campaign where they go around trying to persuade all of us that the Gospel of our salvation is, in fact, a dangerous system aimed to destroy every bit of our lives if not something worse. Long back, I used to spend hours and hours on a certain website which platformed individuals who called themselves “ex Christians”; citizens who gave testimonies of how they were believers indeed, until this a...

What Does Exemplary Christian Leadership Look Like?

Image
We live in a religious world where there is no shortage of crooks, liars, scammers, conmen, hypocrites, cheats and everything else. What we need in desperation and certainly is in short supply, are examples of what it means to be a faithful believer in the Lord Jesus. Somebody that even his secret hideout can bear witness that he/she is a true believer. That is where the issue of leadership comes into play. That is, everyone needs some inspiration one way or the other about this great Christian walk. We need somebody to look up to, someone that even the next generation can be a source of strength when they look back at how they have walked their faith journey. Now, if it was you, looking for that example to boost your own confidence in the Lord Jesus, what would you be looking for? What does exemplary Christian leadership look like? Personally, based on my experience with the Christian life, there is something I expect from those who have gone before me in the Lord, the same standard t...

Close & Personal: What Are Ministry Plans for the Future?

Image
If you have been following this ministry for some time now, you are, with no doubt, aware of the passion that I have for the cause of these Glad Tidings. So much so that sometimes I feel like I’m getting ahead of myself. Nonetheless, I have come to accept that it is who God made me to be. By the way, I got saved in 2015 and started preaching that same month. Fast forward to 2020, that is where Evangel Africa came into being. Its main idea was to be a platform where God's people can go to find answers to difficult Christian questions, alongside finding daily encouragement for faith living and just learning the Bible. Now what about the future: what’s the goal; what’s the vision? I feel like I owe my readers an answer to this, most particularly our sponsors. It’s always the mark of a good leader to have a plan for the future, despite the fact that no one knows what tomorrow holds since God is the ultimate governor. Relocation Having a heart of a missionary, my heart has always been c...
