What Can You Emulate From The Life of Timothy?

Inside our Bibles are two little books that are named after a believer called Timothy. This was a young disciple of Paul the Apostle who was stationed to pastor the church of Ephesus. But what can we learn from the character of this man? Here are a few lessons &qualities to emulate from our brother Timothy. Timothy was young 1 Tim 4:12 - Let no one despise your youth , but be an example to the believers in word, in conduct, in love, in spirit, in faith, in purity. Lesson# Is it not a sad story that the young and free generation wastes their God-given youthful bodies to indulge in worldliness, immorality and a whole lot of useless foolishness. Somehow they imagine that there is still plenty of time waiting for them, way up in the future. Sad as it may sound; today is all we have because tomorrow is not guaranteed! Therefore this time and opportunity that the good Lord has given us must be used wisely for His glory. You don't have to wait for old age to fully commit to Christ. R

Do You Really Understand What Is The Gospel?

It is a sad thing that many of us have been to many churches many times and we have heard a lot of talk about something called the Gospel yet even today we cannot explain what this Gospel is;  Just what is the Gospel?  A simple definition of the Gospel says that the Gospel is the Good News that tells us about the God who loved us so much that He gave us Christ Jesus as a sacrifice on the Cross so that we may be saved from the condemnation we deserved because of our wickedness. This Good News is likened to a person who is drowning in dirty water, then someone comes and freely rescues him. Me and you are the ones drowning in the dirty waters of sin and we desperately need rescue or we will die in our sins. Some people do not believe that they are sinners before God or at least imagine themselves to have done relatively small sins that will be just ignored in the end . It's all because we justify ourselves by comparing ourselves with other humans, however ,  if we are to compare ours

A Pharisee, A Scribe & A Taxcollector

Remember the people in the Bible called the Pharisees, what about the Tax collectors and the Scribes? Studying the different characteristics of these people we discover that there are Pharisees, Scribes and Taxcollectors in the Church today. You might be one of them or at least sit next to one in your church. Pharisees  were the teachers of the Law of Moses but they never cared about obeying it themselves, they loved long prayers &public fastings to be seen by men. In short, they were hypocrites and pretenders. Pharisees in the Church are people whose faith is but a show-off to others. They are the people whose profession of faith is the complete opposite of their lifestyle. Are you a pharisee or is your faith genuine? If not please repent and seek the Lord out of a pure heart. Scribes were the ones given the privilege of translating the written law from one scroll( book) to another. They were also tasked with writing whatever was being preached in the temple. In short, Scribes we

The Others; Is God Unfair?

Hebrews 11:32-40  And what more shall I say? For time would fail me to tell of Gideon, Barak, Samson, Jephthah, of David and Samuel and the prophets— who through faith conquered kingdoms, enforced justice, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions, quenched the power of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, were made strong out of weakness, became mighty in war, put foreign armies to flight. Women received back their dead by resurrection. Some were tortured, refusing to accept release, so that they might rise again to a better life. Others suffered mocking and flogging, and even chains and imprisonment. They were stoned, they were sawn in two, they were killed with the sword. They went about in skins of sheep and goats, destitute, afflicted, mistreated— of whom the world was not worthy—wandering about in deserts and mountains, and in dens and caves of the earth.  And all these, though commended through their faith, did not receive what was promised, since God had provided somethin
